Listen for new rattles or hums from the pump, especially when it first starts. Watch the filter pressure gauge after a clean: a fast climb can mean blocked media or circulation issues. Chlorinator cells scaled heavily produce less chlorine even when lights look fine.

Wet concrete or drips under unions or the heater should never be normal. Small leaks turn into bearing damage, wasted water, and higher power bills.

Between professional visits, a two minute walk around the pad is enough to spot most problems while they are still a simple fix rather than an emergency call out.
